Class Information
Find all details about CTD classes at our Class Info Site. The most important information to communicate to your constituents is that application deadline for the Summer 2025 trimester is April 13, 2024- with Early Application & Early Pre-work deadline being March 9!
There are three steps in the application process:
- Request an application on our Apply Now page. This confirms that an interested person is eligible to participate in Code the Dream.
- Fill out the online application, which is emailed to an applicant immediately after they complete the form to request an application.
- Complete the required pre-work, a coding assignment that assesses whether an applicant is ready for the classes. Applicants receive the pre-work via email right after they apply. The pre-work typically takes 15-20 hours to complete.

Sample Email to Send to your Constituents
Hi there NAME,
This week, a tech nonprofit called Code the Dream (CTD) is opening applications for their free classes in computer programming to immigrants, refugees, women, people of color and others who experience career barriers, and you would be a great candidate! Students take 6-10 months of part-time classes, and then can apply for a paid apprenticeship in CTD Labs building real apps for real clients focused on social justice.
CTD offers introductory classes, as well as advanced classes in back-end and front-end web development. To get into the classes, you must be serious about wanting to be a software developer and you must even submit some code (but don’t worry, for the Intro class, a tutorial is provided). The application is competitive, but this is a great opportunity that I encourage you to take!
Applications are due on April 13, 2023, or early admission deadline March 9. Check it out and apply today! Be sure to list YOUR ORGANIZATION NAME for the question where you heard about the class; it could help you.
Thanks and good luck!
Take care,
YOUR NAME
