Mobile Apps

Need a custom mobile app for your organization or company? Our experienced team of developers builds a wide range of apps deployed to both iOS and Android. We are also happy to help you think through the pros and cons of whether you really need a mobile app, or a less expensive phone-optimized web app might be more appropriate to your users’ needs. In many cases, we build out both web-based and native mobile apps that share the same database — allowing users to access your product or services in whatever way is most convenient to them, and providing you the best possible admin insight and control.

Process

We will walk you through the entire process, from start to finish, to help you create the app you want.  We will begin with a meeting in which you tell us more about your goals, your audience, and what you want the app to do. We will help you decide if you definitely need a mobile app, or if a web app might suffice. Then, we will help you identify features to optimize functionality even if you aren’t sure what you need. Once we have an idea of what you want, we can start building. We will check in with you regularly – usually weekly – to make sure we are on the right track, and we will adapt our design based on your feedback to create the product that will best suit your needs. Mobile apps almost always require ongoing maintenance, and we are prepared to work with you for as long as you want to meet your needs. Ready to get started? Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to request an estimate.

Timeframe

The timeframe all depends on how complicated and how many features your mobile app will include, and if you also want a companion web app. Mobile apps generally take a minimum of 2 – 6 months but could take longer for more complex projects.

Cost

Code the Dream tries to offer the most affordable services possible based on the exact needs of each client. Mobile app development can vary broadly, depending on the complexity of the app. We are able to develop some less complex mobile apps for $25,000 – $75,000, but more complex apps will often range from $75,000 – $200,000+. Code the Dream tries to make these services as affordable as possible, and particularly for nonprofit clients, we are happy to work with you to jointly identify potential funding that could cover development costs.

Vamos Outreach

EFWM staff has really enjoyed working with Code the Dream on the development of the Vamos Outreach App. We appreciate the support and kindness of everyone involved. Since starting to use Vamos for our outreach visits to farmworkers in Eastern North Carolina, it has already increased the effectiveness of our outreach efforts. We will be using the web app to plan our outreach, and we use the mobile app to locate labor camps, track our visits and donations, and make notes about anything that needs attention. Thanks to the app our work is more efficient and productive.”

The development of this app was such an exciting process! It was fascinating to follow these murals from the beginning concept drawings done by the artists, Cornelio and Cecelia, to the unimaginable engagement Code the Dream has made possible through this app. I never could have anticipated how much fun it would be to watch the creative minds at Code the Dream bring people from the street into the galleries of the museum! Everyone involved was extremely mindful of the integrity of artists’ work and the underlying messages they were conveying. Congratulations to the team and huge thanks from the North Carolina Museum of Art for all their hard work! We love when our work reaches beyond the walls of our buildings and into the lives of people across the state. ”

The Code the Dream team was exactly the developers we needed to move our idea to the next level. They are customer focused and willing to try ideas that push Software as a Service (SaaS) companies. We are proud to be their launch customer for commercial software."

Conectate Carolina

Code the Dream has developed a very much needed app for farmworkers to find resources based on their location. They are very quick to respond to questions about the app and are continuously suggesting ways to improve the user experience and are in communication with us on a fairly regular basis. The app is revolutionizing the way workers are empowered to seek resources and the way organizations can provide and give service referrals."

"Programs like CTD are important because everyone should have access to a good education regardless of their background, faith or finances. Some students like me are passionate about coding, but unfortunately, we can't afford a boot camp." Learn more at codethedream.org/classes. pic.twitter.com/3q1vz2HRz0
