Oksana Stepanchuk grew up in Ukraine and originally pursued a career in law, earning a Master’s Degree in Law in Ukraine. After years of experience as a corporate lawyer, she realized her true passion lay elsewhere. Oksana discovered coding through the CS50 Harvard University course after she moved to the USA and found it to be incredibly rewarding and calming—almost like meditation. This newfound love led her to pivot her career towards software development. Known for her sense of humor, Oksana believes that a good laugh can solve almost any problem well, maybe not bugs in the code, but it certainly helps! She is passionate about using technology to drive positive change and has a heart for helping others, whether it’s through mentoring, volunteering, or just being there to lend a hand. In her free time, Oksana enjoys spending time with her husband and two little kids. She is also an avid recycler and encourages everyone to reduce waste and protect the planet. Being a mother is hard, but she jokes that it’s great practice for debugging after all, both involve a lot of trial and error and occasional meltdowns! Oksana is dedicated to making the world a better place, one line of code (and one recycled bottle) at a time.
