Thank you for your support of Code the Dream! Every single donation we receive is crucial to supporting our free code school and paid apprenticeship program. This toolkit can help you share the opportunity to give to Code the Dream this coming Giving Tuesday.

What & When is Giving Tuesday?
This year, #GivingTuesday is on Tuesday, November 28, 2022. Giving Tuesday is a “global movement of generosity” and an annual opportunity to make donations to organizations that you care about. We would be honored and thrilled if you help us get the word out about Code the Dream.
Anyone can make a donation at codethedream.org/donate.
How can the CTD community support CTD on Giving Tuesday?
- Share information on your company’s Slack channels inviting co-workers to give to Code the Dream leading up to and on Giving Tuesday (sample messages and graphics are below).
- Talk to your manager and/or the philanthropic department at your company to investigate the possibility of having a company-sponsored request for support on Giving Tuesday (see sample email text below).
- See if your company will match donations made to CTD on Giving Tuesday (see sample email text below).
- Make a donation yourself on Giving Tuesday and encourage your coworkers to do the same!

I’m writing to inquire about our company’s policy on giving to nonprofit organizations supported by employees, especially with the upcoming Giving Tuesday campaign. In particular, I am curious to know if our company would make a donation donation and/or offers matching contributions for employee gifts.
Code the Dream provides free, online classes in software development for underrepresented communities, and then offers a paid apprenticeship in CTD Labs, where participants hone their skills by building real apps that serve underrepresented communities, as well.

Code the Dream is changing lives by expanding opportunities to join the tech industry. And CTD makes a difference in the broader community as well:
- This year, the 1,000th student since 2015 enrolled in CTD!
- We served our largest numbers of students ever in our Intro, React.js, and Node.js cohorts. A total of 461 unique students joined our classes this year.
- Students and apprentices represented 36 states (plus American Samoa and Washington, D.C.) and over 100 countries of origin.
- Two-thirds of our participants were immigrants, more than 60% identified as women or non-binary, and more than 90% identified as low-income.
