IMPACT AND OUTREACH

Vamos

Farmworkers are some of our nation’s most crucial — but also least protected — workers, and can be vulnerable to poor pay and abusive conditions.

Agencies working to empower and organize workers for better conditions face challenges of their own: Just locating labor camps where workers live can be difficult and time consuming. Vamos Outreach is an app built by Code the Dream in collaboration with farmworker organizations to help outreach workers plan, track, navigate, and report on their visits to migrant and seasonal farmworkers. You can learn more about this one-of-a-kind app in this 3-minute video.  Vamos is currently operating in 9 states. If you know of a farmworker organization that could benefit from using Vamos, share this site with them!

Here’s the kind of impact Vamos is having on farmworker organizations:

Over the course of the last couple years, Vamos has completely reshaped how we do our farmworker outreach. In a world before Vamos, outreach planning was complex and time-consuming—it required advocates to sift through dozens of folders and spreadsheets to create routes. Now, all of our outreach notes are organized and at our fingertips, planning routes takes only a fraction of the time, and the mobile app allows us to adjust quickly on the road while visiting farmworkers. We have a much more efficient outreach operation because of Vamos.
