Code the Dream (CTD) and tech company SAS stepped up their longstanding collaboration in 2023, when SAS brought on a cohort of CTD apprentices to undergo training and mentoring and gain real-world work experience addressing coding problems, creating visual examples of user interface components, testing software, and checking design elements.
SAS and Code the Dream first worked together on the Hill Reading Achievement Program educational app, designed to improve child literacy rates.
The apprenticeship program came about because the two organizations have similar goals, said Alex Boakye, Vice President of Solutions Development for SAS.
“Partnering with Code the Dream was an easy yes,” Boakye said. “Their mission fits the DNA of what SAS has always done: helping people grow technical talent and supporting diverse tech professionals.”
