Muralikrishna Veeramosu started volunteering at Code the Dream for reasons that mirror CTD’s mission.
“Throughout my career specializing in software development and mobile application development, I have seen how critical strong mentorship is for early-career engineers,” Veeramosu says. “I wanted to leverage my expertise to build up the next generation of developers from diverse backgrounds.”
During his time volunteering with Code the Dream, Veeramosu has primarily worked with the CTD Learns Data Engineering track. In his professional life, he recognized how quickly AI was becoming important to tech professionals, and he helped CTD quickly develop a robust curriculum with up-to-date AI information.
His help developing this track speaks to the value of volunteers in keeping CTD Learns able to quickly adapt to industry changes, says Reid Russom, CTD’s Curriculum and Instruction Director.
“Data engineering, ML, and AI engineering were all new concepts for Code the Dream to teach, and we have leaned heavily on subject-matter experts like Muralikrishna for guidance, feedback, and content creation throughout the creation of this track,” Russom says.
Veeramosu, a Principal Mobile Developer at a major financial firm, works on engineering scalable mobile solutions and driving complex, enterprise-level system migrations. He is also responsible for enforcing security and quality standards. Throughout his career in tech, he has also been a student of—and active participant in—the industry’s evolution.
“Beyond my primary corporate responsibilities, I am deeply committed to advancing the broader technology community,” Veeramosu says. “I actively contribute to the technology industry by reviewing technology books, authoring research articles, and publishing papers specifically focused on Edge AI and on-device machine learning.”
Veeramosu also serves as an expert judge for hackathons and tech competitions, evaluating complex project submissions to help foster the next generation of engineering talent.
Contributing to the Next Generation of Tech Talent
Having benefited from early-career mentorship himself, Veeramosu has prioritized mentoring as a means of giving guidance to beginner developers. CTD’s students were exactly the kind of nascent tech talent he wanted to help.
“Code the Dream’s mission resonated deeply with me because it allows me to help new talent in underserved and underrepresented communities bypass common industry pitfalls and understand the rigorous enterprise standards—such as coding standards, automated processes, and strict data privacy—required at top-tier organizations,” Veeramosu says.
He has provided a mix of structured group sessions, 1-on-1 career and technical coaching, and rigorous project code reviews for CTD students.

Recognizing the rapid shift to AI
After mentoring in CTD’s first Python for Data Analysis course in 2025, Veeramosu saw how quickly AI was becoming an integral part of software development. In his own work, Veeramosu says he has integrated AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot and Claude, “into every phase of the software development lifecycle.”

Recognizing this industry-wide shift, Veeramosu’s CTD mentorship moved to the Python AI & Cloud Computing course, where he has guided two cohorts of CTD students.
“In this advanced track, I teach students how to architect and deploy Machine Learning models—covering linear regression, classification, scikit-learn, PyTorch and TensorFlow—and saving the trained models for cloud inference. Crucially, I also guide them through building cutting-edge Generative AI systems. This involves teaching them how to build LLM-based applications, implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) techniques, develop AI Agents, and integrate these ML/LLM models into robust cloud computing and ETL pipelines.”
In addition to his mentorship, Veeramosu helped create a new AI-based curriculum for CTD students.
“The technology landscape is shifting at an unprecedented rate, and I firmly believe that AI, ML, and Edge AI are now foundational requirements for modern software engineering,” he says. “Through my own continuous professional development and my hands-on work leveraging AI tools to accelerate development velocity, I see firsthand how these technologies are fundamentally reshaping our industry. I wanted to ensure that CTD students are equipped not just to participate in today’s job market, but to be technical leaders in tomorrow’s.”

A Unique Satisfaction
When asked what advice he would give to a tech professional considering volunteering with Code the Dream, Veeramosu calls the experience “profoundly rewarding.”
“There is a unique satisfaction in watching a learner transition from struggling with basic syntax to confidently grasping complex logic or robust error handling. The most meaningful moments occur when mentees reach out to share that they have secured an apprenticeship, landed their first software engineering role, or secured a major promotion. Knowing that my guidance helped accelerate their career trajectory and empowered them to succeed in this highly competitive industry is incredibly fulfilling.”
