Meet Anujkumarsinh Donvir, CTD’s Volunteer of the Month!

January 27, 2025 by Reid Russom

Each month, Code the Dream celebrates one of our incredible volunteers. This month, we’re excited to celebrate Anujkumarsinh Donvir, who joined CTD as a React group instructor in 2024. Students have shared that Anuj leads detailed, well-structured group sessions; they also are grateful that Anuj records his lessons, allowing them to return to those lessons even in later weeks.

Tell us about yourself!

I am a Lead at ADP, specializing in creating software solutions for Data Visualization, Analytics, and Business Intelligence. My journey into programming began as a curious child, fascinated by the mechanics behind video games. I fondly recall being 8 or 9 years old when my father brought home a SEGA gaming system, sparking a lifelong passion for technology. This early curiosity led me to pursue formal education in Computer Science, turning my fascination into a fulfilling career.

Why did you get involved with Code the Dream?

Code the Dream’s mission resonates deeply with me, as it empowers individuals from diverse and low-resourced communities to pursue careers in technology, creating an equitable learning environment. Growing up in a rural area in India, I experienced firsthand the challenges of limited access to technology education. Supporting others on this transformative journey aligns closely with my personal dream of making tech education universally accessible.

What has been meaningful about your experience with Code the Dream?

Serving as an mentor at Code the Dream has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Engaging with students one-on-one, I’ve been moved by their resilience and determination to pursue their dreams despite significant challenges. Their journeys are truly inspiring. Additionally, the unwavering support and approachability of the Code the Dream team have made my involvement even more impactful and fulfilling.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Code the Dream does more than make learning equitable—it transforms lives. I encourage anyone with a passion for technology and a desire to build a career in this field to explore the courses they offer. It’s a program that truly empowers individuals to achieve their dreams.

Several students shared about why they appreciate Anuj:

Anuj is great at leading group sessions. He does an excellent job walking through live code examples and pausing for questions to check for understanding.

Kenya, React.js student

I always appreciate the mentors! I’m glad that Anuj’s sessions are recorded — it’s great to come back to things I missed or follow along with mentor sessions that I could not attend.

Brittany, React.js student

Anuj Singh is doing great job.He explains lessons clearly and always in touch.

Alona, React.js student

Thanks, Anuj, for your commitment to our students!
