Web Design

Code the Dream developers work with partners to design and build a wide range of business and nonprofit websites. Where possible, Code the Dream uses WordPress to create beautiful sites that are easy for clients to add to and maintain. Custom developed web apps are another option, and we are happy to walk through the pros and cons based on your particular needs.

Code the Dream’s lead web designer Alex Rodriguez

Process

We will walk you through the entire process, from start to finish, to help you create the beautiful and intuitive site you want.  Code the Dream can help you design a site from scratch, modernize an existing site, and/or provide ongoing maintenance for your personal or professional site. We generally use WordPress, but we can also help you convert a site from a different platform.

Ready to get started? Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to start a conversation with us.  In the meantime, you can prepare! First, look around the web to see what kind of sites you like the look of and make a note of those. Start thinking about what your goals are with the website (what are you trying to communicate?), and who your main audience is (with whom are you trying to communicate?).  You can also begin thinking about how you might want to organize the information; what is most important to have up front? We will work with you in all these areas, but it’s always helpful if you already have an idea of what you want.

Timeframe

Building a beautiful and intuitive website can take anywhere from a week to a year depending on how complicated it is, how much information is included, and what kinds of integrations are needed. Most of our projects take about a month for a basic site, and 3 or more months for more complicated sites.

Cost

A standard nonprofit or business website often costs between $3,000 to $6,000, but each site varies greatly and also depends on how much planning you have already done.  Larger sites, or those with multiple complex features tend to range between $6,000 to $15,000.

What’s included

With all of our web design projects, you own your own website, and we create all sites to be mobile-friendly. We train you on how to use your site and obtain site analytics. Web-hosting, software updates, and backups are included for one year.

When you work with Code the Dream to design and build your website, we offer a full range of features including:

  • Custom forms
  • Events calendar
  • E-commerce set-up
  • Member log-in
  • Donation set-up

Depending on the complexity of the requested feature, some of these options will require additional work (and cost).

So Much Potential

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience working with Code the Dream. I was drawn to working with them on a website creation project because of the mentoring and skill-building side of their mission, and I would work with them again in a heartbeat due to the stellar professional services that I received. The website is brilliant, and the process of working with Alex was smooth, responsive, and efficient. She guided me skillfully through the key choices in the design process and used excellent judgment to come up with solutions. The final product is beautiful to view, easy to navigate, and full of great information. It exceeded my hopes and expectations, which I credit fully to Alex and Code the Dream.

The site looks great, is being used frequently, and I'm able to make edits as they are needed, because of their training."
